We are a team of 35 people from the Hong Kong Youth Association. As of 2019, we have came to Wudang Mountain Kung Fu Academy to learn Wudang Kung Fu for 9 consecutive years.

We started training on the second day. The masters divided us into three groups to teach, two groups were learning Wudang Tiger Form, and the other group was learning Wudang 28 Step Taichi. Master Hu personally taught Wudang 28 Step Tai Chi. What moved us most was that Master Hu taught us with injuries. Three days before we arrived, Master Hu accidentally injured his ankle while practicing “three consecutive kicks in the air”. However, Master Hu saw that we had come from Hong Kong from a long distance and had come back to study every year for the past few years. Resist the severe pain and insist on teaching us. Master Hu said that he saw that we asked to learn Kung Fu with the same heart as me when he learned Kung Fu. Therefore, we should not delay our courses and leave us no regrets.

After ten days of practice, each of our students completed the planned course. The trip to Wudang Mountain was very rewarding. After returning to Hong Kong, we must not only share the Wudang Taoist culture with our relatives and friends, so that they can also benefit from it; we must also pass on the kung fu we learned to the people of Hong Kong, so that more Hong Kong people can learn Wudang Kung Fu. This better inherits Wudang Kung Fu and promotes Wudang Taoist culture.

Miguel, Spain, Short-term Form Class https://www.wudangacademy.net/spain-wudang-short-term-form-class/ Thu, 18 Apr 2019 00:45:48 +0000 https://wudangacademy.net/?p=1456

I like Wudang Mountain Kung Fu Academy very much because it has a very rich Taoist culture. In the past four years, I have brought students back to Wudang Mountain Kung Fu Academy every year. This is the fifth time I come to Wudang Mountain Kung Fu Academy. This time I brought 4 students from Spain.

Under the guidance of the masters in the academy, I studied Wudang Taiyi Whisk. What surprised me most was that Master Hu clearly remembered what I had learned, and helped me review and consolidate some of my mistakes. The other four students have learned Wudang 13 Step Tai Chi. They are very satisfied with Master Wang’s teaching and will return to study here in the future.

In Wudang Mountain Kung Fu Academy, we can not only learn Wudang Kung Fu, but also the essence of Chinese Taoist culture. Here, we can open our minds and share with the world the Chinese perspective and attitude towards the world.

Anna, Russian, One Year Kung Fu Class https://www.wudangacademy.net/russian-wudang-kung-fu-class/ Wed, 20 Sep 2017 14:39:19 +0000 https://wudangacademy.net/?p=1458

I was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. Since I was a child, I have been yearning for Chinese culture. My first impression of Chinese Kung Fu was because of the movie, which was produced by the Shaw Group in the 1970s. My favorite Kung Fu movie actor is the old-school action star Liu Jialiang.

Before coming to China, I studied other martial arts routines in Russia for several years. At first, I thought that the kung fu performed by people who sing Peking opera should be Chinese kung fu. As I gradually learned more about it, I realized that the skills in Peking opera Wu Sheng is just a corner of the mountain of Chinese Kung Fu, and as I work in the translation of Peking Opera (from Chinese to Russian), gradually I have a broader understanding of Chinese martial arts, and then I understand that Chinese martial arts is a vast ocean.

These reasons prompted me to come to Wudang Mountain to find my Kung Fu dream. At Wudang Mountain Kung Fu Academy, I found my belonging! The magical Wudang Kung Fu techniques and actual combat skills, and a healthy lifestyle make my body stronger. I found a brand new lifestyle in Wudang Kung Fu. Kung Fu is an attitude to life. It allows people to slow down, to perceive nature in detail, and to express themselves faithfully without concealing anything. In the fast-paced contemporary life, all of these are difficult for us to obtain. When you understand the importance of all of these, many times, you have been lost for a long time.

Thank you very much for Wudang Mountain Kung Fu Academy. I will come back to study again!

Francesco, Italy, Short-term Form Training Class https://www.wudangacademy.net/francesco-italy-wudang-form-training-class/ Wed, 26 Jul 2017 14:18:45 +0000 https://wudangacademy.net/?p=1460

This is the third time my wife and I have come Wudang Mountain Kung Fu Academy to study. My father is a Kung Fu coach in Italy, so I have been familiar with Chinese Kung Fu since I was a child. My wife Anna was a student in my father’s martial arts gym. We have come together because of the love and common view of Kung Fu.

Before learning Kung Fu, we all have our own jobs. I am an engineer and my wife Anna is a doctor. Kung fu is only used to decorate my life as a hobby outside of work. But a few years ago, we saw a video of Master Hu’s Wudang Longhua Quan on the Internet, and we were shocked by the dynamic and majestic boxing techniques. We found it was very amazing.

In 2014, we came to Wudang Mountain for the first time and started a five-month study life. When we came here, we learned that although the boxing technique in the video was shocking, it was the result of decades of practice by the master. Regardless of what you have done before, you must start from the basic skills, and then you can begin to learn martial arts such as martial arts, swordsmanship, and so on.

The master’s requirements are extremely strict. At the beginning, he had to do more than a thousand kicks every day. But it is through such hard training that we can enter the real Wudang Kungfu. In the past few years, we have returned to school many times. In the exchanges and exchanges between the two places and Kung Fu, they also brought the real Wudang Kung Fu back to Italy.

Wudang Kung Fu is not like the ordinary sports of playing football and basketball. Kung Fu requires the unity of body and mind, and needs to understand the connotation through movements and perceive the changes in one’s body and mind.

Mrs. Yang, Singapore, Summer Camp Class https://www.wudangacademy.net/singapore-wudang-summer-camp-class/ Thu, 29 Jun 2017 14:11:14 +0000 https://wudangacademy.net/?p=1462

The summer vacation in Singapore is in May and June. After finishing the work on hand, my husband and I took my son to Wudang Mountain in June, hoping to use the opportunity of traveling and learning to let the kid know more Chinese traditional culture. My husband is a traditional cultural man who loves Chinese tea and Tai Chi. He has heard of Wudang Kung fu a long time ago, so he tried his best to persuade us and my son to come to Wudang Mountain Kung Fu Academy.

After arriving at the academy, we chose a private customized summer camp class. Master Wang taught us Wudang 18 Step Tai Chi Form. After the first day of class, I found that Tai Chi was really comfortable. I felt very stressful when I went to work before and I didn’t know the direction, I don’t eat much every day. After only one day here, I felt my body stretched and my appetite became very good. I ate two bowls of rice at noon.

The next day we felt a little strenuous and our limbs seemed extremely stiff. My husband said that there is a fundamental difference between the Tai Chi practiced here and in the park! Immediately after the third day, we felt a significant change, the body showed a relaxed feeling, and there was a feeling of walking freely with mind and form.

Master Wang has repeatedly urged Taoists to pursue natural pursuits and not to force them, and to relax and practice if the body feels pain. I am a very rigorous person, trying to keep my posture in sync with my teacher, but my knee and thigh muscles are sore on the fourth day. But I could fall asleep within a few minutes when I rested at night. The previous insomnia and dreaminess are completely gone. I feel that my temperament is really close to Taoism, and Wudang Taoist Tai Chi culture should be promoted vigorously.

My son only obeyed his parents’ arrangements at the beginning. By the end of the last day of study, he began to have a deep interest in traditional Chinese culture, and would discuss Taoism with his master and parents from time to time. My husband and I also have a better understanding of Tai Chi Yin and Yang and the changes in the Five Elements. We feel that the harvest is beyond our imagination. After we return, we will let the elderly in our family come to here to study Tai Chi, and I will definitely send my son to study again next year.
